Passports, visas...oy.

Hej there everyone!
Hvordan gar det?
I've been working a bit on my Danish.

Speaking of Danish...major update in the world of Rowen's-exchange-experience.... Denmark it is! Being done with all of this application stuff, I can safely say that if all goes well and I get aboard an airplane this July I'll be heading off to Denmark.

So that's a pretty cool thing to be able to say.

Now, onto the not-so-cool parts.

Visa, passport, orientations, AHHHHH. There's so much to do! The main areas of concern are passport and visa because of the time crunch and urgency of the matter. Also money. Passports are somewhere in the hundred-range, but visas to study in denmark are around 400 US dollars. Unfortunately. When my mom said 300 euro I was hoping she was mistaken and meant danish kroner. She wasn't. Anyway.

I recommend that if you for some reason get yourself into the same boat that I'm in(i.e being an exchange student), you, as per my usual advice, get started on all of this junk early. Passports take a bit of time, visas even more so. Also visas are sort of hell to get. I'm in the process right now.

What else can I tell you...hmm. Well, I'm not sure how helpful any of this will be, but I can tell you all what I'm doing in terms of getting ready. 1. I got ahold of some Danish children's books, and I'm working on getting through them. I've heard that children's books, music, t.v shows, movies, etc. are helpful because the vocabulary is so simple and the grammar is straightforward. 2. I'm lucky enough to go to school with a Danish guy. So, I've sort of been able to use him as a pronunciation guide or dictionary when I get really lost. (....sorry Oliver!). He's also been great at correcting my butchered words. 3. I found a website that has a bunch of vocab lists and worksheets that I think is designed for teachers. The worksheets are uber helpful, even though pretty frustrating in my opinion.

I think that's about it in terms of an update, however, I hope everything is going well for you, and I hope you have a great day!
