Hej there everyone!
welcome to this blog! My name is Rowen(as you may have figured), and I'm currently an exchange student in Danmark for the school year 2013-14.
If I were still a student in the states, I would be going into my junior year of highschool. Here in Danmark, however, I'm in my 2nd year of gymnassium. I love languages, art, and meeting new people and places.
I am keeping this blog for a couple of reasons; some selfish, some not as much. As for one reason, I want to have a record of this year that's easy to access and easy to go through. Being a "journaler" by nature, I always have record of how I feel and how I have felt, but having a chronologically sound, organized record of what I do/did appealed to me. Another reason to keep a blog about being on exchange was of course to help other exchange students, or prospective students. When I was thinking about going on exchange, I spent a lot of time reading other students accounts of their travels, and trying to feel out what it might be like to be an exchange student myself. The last reason is of course to update anyone who might want to know, about my life while I'm abroad.
All of that junk being said, my advice for navigating this booger of a site, would be to start from the beginning if you're trying to see what it's like to be an exchange student. That way you can read about where I started, went, ended up, etc. Otherwise, look at whatever you like. I'll try to post pictures if I remember to take them.
Cool stuff.
See you around!
-Rowen
SIDE NOTE:
You may notice that on the right side of the page, there is a link to a page called 'flip books'. Flip books, are little books that have moving images when you flip the pages quickly. This year, I am creating a series of short-and-sweet flip books about my life here in Denmark. When I've finished them, I'll record a video of them being flipped, and, voila'! - When the videos are up, you can view them on this page.
Love this blog, Rowen! Waahhooo!!!!
